MAHWAH, N.J. – The Mahwah Township Council will be holding a vote at Thursday’s meeting that could reverse two ordinances that resulted in a civil rights lawsuit , according to the agenda posted to the Mahwah website.
According to New Jersey authorities, the ordinances were aimed at keeping Orthodox Jews from New York out of Bergen County, banning non-state residence from Mahwah parks and outlawing an eruv – a religious boundary – from being built on township utility poles, NorthJersey.com reports.
